Removing a door handle isn t always as straightforward as it seems.

Look for these fasteners along the base of the lever then use an allen wrench that fits snugly into the head of the fastener.
Use wood putty to fill the holes left behind.
Depending on the door handle design the faceplate may be able to slide completely off.
Slide the cosmetic faceplate away from the door.
Turn the wrench to remove the fastener then pull the lever away from the door by hand.
The door handle will now slide off.
Slide the cover plate or rose off of a door knob or lever handle to expose the screws.
While most handles are secured with exposed mounting screws you might need to check for a slot in the neck of the knob or lever.
Some lever handles have hexagonal shaped fasteners that require an allen wrench for removal.
Use an allen wrench to remove the lever.
